Morning meeting, Hydroponics updates
By Clare
During morning meetings we often check our hydroponics towers. There is a lot of lettuce to pick! We also have basil and cucumber growing! We added more water to each tower, checked the pH level, and pollinated the cucumbers.
While pollinating our cucumbers plants, we were exited to see the yellow flowers of cucumbers opened! We knew the timing is important and we quickly needed to do the job. We used cotton swabs to pass the pollen. That method called hand pollination. It is the most common method for indoor plants. We made estimations of when we would see a cucumber!
