Reality Fair with Ms. Fortunato's Financial Literacy Class

Members of the Pathways Team appreciated this valuable experience provided by students in Ms. Fortunato's Financial Literacy class.  This was a meaningful collaboration for all involved.  Thank you to all of the Financial Literacy students who brought with them all of the knowledge and expertise they have gained throughout the semester and sharing it members of the Pathways Team.  Thank you Ms. Fortunato for this partnership!

The Reality Fair was a lot of fun! The fair was located on the 4th floor. The fair happened during H-block. We worked on our budget. At first it was hard (and scary), but at last it was a fun activity. It's similar to The Game of Life. During the activity each student had their own budgets. My career was a Police Officer. My annual salary was $34,000. We worked on managing our income, expenses, and monthly spending totals. On the expense box each student picked all the ideas that they wanted to purchase, then write the amount of the money we spend, and then seniors initialed their names on the third column of the expense box. It was a fun learning experience!
