Monday Morning Meeting, The True Meaning of The Holiday Season

The holiday season has arrived and we are ready for the last week of school before winter break. This morning we talked about spirit of the season, giving and gratefulness.  Together we listened to the NPR story "On Christmas Eve, A Stolen Bicycle And A Lesson In Giving" . We talked about one's experience and the joy of giving a gift to someone else.  This is the true meaning of the holiday season, giving not receiving, and discussed what things we can do to share the joy of giving. With joy and cheer, the students at morning meeting shared things they do to give and help those in need. We have students who volunteer and serve in the community each week at various places. We have students who enjoy helping their grandparents, help take care of their younger siblings, and giving their loved ones the gift of their time.  Hope everyone is enjoying the true spirit of the holidays!
