July 3rd: Drumlin Farm, Patriotism & Bacon

By Nicolas Wong: On July 3rd, Pathways celebrated

the July 4th holiday, Independence Day! 🎆🎇

We researched John Adams the 2nd president of the United States
& Thomas Jefferson the 3rd president of the United States
& learned a significant fact; both John Adams & Thomas Jefferson
died on July 4th, 1826. At lunchtime, we shared information
about the presidents & had a Patriotic Singalong!

Drumlin Farm by Claire
On Tuesday Mr Keane, Ms P, Clare, Jack, and Catherine had a great time
at Drumlin Farm. We went to volunteer, but due to the weather our duties
were canceled. We still toured Drumlin to learn what we are doing next week.
First we went into the animal gift shop. At the gift shop we looked
at all the stuffed animals and animal books.
After looking at the gift shop we toured all the animals outside.
We saw sheep, different variety of birds, chickens, pigs, goats, and deers.
When we're at the chicken coop the brown Polish chicken scared me a lot
because the chicken's brown and black feather looked similar to a color
of the monarch butterfly. I didn't go inside the chicken coop because the coop
smelled lousy. We looked at the pig pen. Inside the pig pen five pigs were
sleeping on the hay. I called to the pigs "WAKE UP PIGS!"
We had a great time at drumlin farm! I hope we can volunteer next Tuesday.

BACON
Catherine was kind enough to bring her dog, Bacon, to visit Pathways on Tuesday.
Bacon is a friendly, French Bulldog. He is small, white, and 4 years old. Bacon was liked by all.
We hope he comes back to visit again!
