February Holiday Happenings!

The Pathways Program has been very busy celebrating a variety of holidays this February!  Lunar New Year celebrations began on the first day of February throughout the world.  Pathways marked the occasion in many ways.  The Life Skills class prepared cuisine from China and Thailand, including beef and broccoli stir-fry, peanut-free Pad Thai, and fresh spring rolls.  In Pathways ELA class, Ms. Pileeki showed a short movie that shared information regarding the celebration of the Lunar New Year in different Asian countries.  Ms. McGowan also visited and led the class in a step-by-step drawing activity commemorating the Year of the Tiger that began this Lunar New Year.  The classroom was also decorated with the help of some students and Ms. Joyce, with red construction paper garland and a lantern.

Celebrations continued this week with Valentine's Day.  The students in Life Skills made special chocolate candies and decorated cookies.  Many students also received a carnation from another student or staff member as part of the CCHS fundraiser.  Holidays have made for a Fun February!
