CCHS Unified Basketball Updates & Jamboree

The CCHS Unified Basketball season has been a great experience for all involved, from players and

coaches to the fans in the stands.

The season will end with participation in the Unified Basketball Jamboree at Lexington High School on November 18, which begins with an opening ceremony at 3:30 PM.  CCHS is scheduled to play Norwood High School at 4:30 PM and Lexington High School at 5:15 PM.

Below CCHS post-grad student Clare Hwang shares some of her thoughts on recent games.

On October 15, CCHS basketball team played vs. Waltham. Ms. Watford, Ms. P, Mr. Keane, and other guests came and watched the game. We did warm-ups in the gym before the game started. When the game started we watched the cheerleaders first and then we had our game. At the end of the game, our team scored 28 points. The first home game was a lot of fun!

On Friday, October 22, CCHS had a second home game playing vs. Newton South.  Ms. Watford, Ms. Ring, Ms. Joyce, Ms. Mahoney and other guests came to watch the game. Our team scored 42 points and our team lost. The game was fantastic!

On Wednesday 10/27 CCHS had a game at Watertown High School. Before the game started we did warm-ups and The National Anthem. After the National Anthem, we went straight to the game. At the end of the game, our team scored 42 points and then our team won! That was great news! Hopefully, our team can win the next game. After the game was over, Coach Murphy who is a basketball coach from Thoreau Elementary School gave out cookies for our team to share. After we shared cookies, we got on the bus back to CCHS.

On November 2, the game was a lot of fun! Many other CCHS athletes came and cheered.  First, we did warm-ups in the gym with music and then we went right through the game. Ms. Watford, Mr. Keane, Mr. B Joe, Ms. Pileeki, Ms. Stahl, Ms. Mahoney, Mrs. McGowan, Ms. Caruso, and other guests came. Raleigh Fisher, the unofficial photographer, took lots of photos too.  After the game, the team had snacks at the cafeteria. It was a nice way to end the game!

Our score was 53 points and our team lost. I hope our team could win for our final game next week!
